The Story Behind Sum & Sage
Hi, I’m Chandler. I’ve always been drawn to numbers — not just because they balance, but because they tell stories and solve puzzles in ways that create clarity where there was once chaos.
My path wasn’t typical. I began in forensic psychology before switching to accounting, ultimately earning both a B.S. in Accounting and an M.S. in Financial Crime Investigations by the age of 23. That program is one of a kind in the U.S. — designed to train experts in uncovering fraud, tracing money, and building airtight financial narratives.
Most of my peers took their skills to the FBI, FinCEN, or major accounting firms. I chose something different. I saw that nonprofits and boutique businesses — organizations full of vision and impact — were being underserved. They were stuck with either basic bookkeepers or overpriced firms who didn’t understand their world.
So I stepped off the “traditional” path and built Sum & Sage. That choice is why my clients have access to expertise that normally lives behind closed doors.
